Rajasthan Assembly elections 2018 are due in the first week of the December. The Election commission issued the election dates and code of conduct for the exam. This time, the elections will be conducted by downloading the ballot online and then sending it by post for casting their vote. With this new provision, over 1 lakh service voters can cast their votes.
It is for the first time that Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBS) is being used for Rajasthan Assembly elections. This new provision will help the service personnel to cast votes easily. In fact, many defence personnel claimed that due to e-ballot they would be able to vote for the first time. Usually, due to unavailability of leaves, they won’t be able to vote. Many of them claimed that process of getting ballot paper through post and then sending it back was too long.
Who all can vote through e-ballot?
The people who can register are members of Indian Army, Navy and Air Force personnel of General Reserve Engineer Force (Border Road Organization). Border Security Force, India Tibetan Border Police, Assam Rifles, National Security Guards, Central Reserve Police Force, Central Industrial Security Force and Sashastra Seema Bal.
Apart from Rajasthan, the Assembly elections will going to be held in four other Indian states i.e. Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh.
