Rakshabandhan is one of the major and significant festivals of India. This festival is symbol of love of brother and sister. The festival is being held with great joy and fun. On this day, it is customary that sisters tie rakhi on the hands of the brothers. For this festival, the governments of various states provide free travel to girls and women. However, on the occasion of Rakhi, the number of passengers increased considerably. Rajasthan government also provides free ride to women in RSRTC buses only for 24 hours which began from August 25th midnight. Know more.

On the occasion of Rakhi, people travel frequently. Women and girls also move from one city to another to meet their brothers and their parents’ homes. To provide them the comfortable and cheap travelling, Rajasthan government provides the facility of free ride on Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation buses every year.

This year, it has been started from 25th August at 00:00 hours and will end within 24 hours. The important thing to note here is that this facility is available only on buses of general and express category. Luxury and Super luxury buses don’t provide this facility. This year Rakshabandhan falls on 26th August.
