Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundhara Raje is leading Rajasthan towards development and is especially focusing on the area of urban development. Vasundhara Raje’s government has taken various steps in this direction such as titling and digitization of records and a law for land pooling, etc. The month of April this year has seen a landmark legislation of providing statutory backing to land records.

The main aim of the Government is to remove paperwork and save time which the builders have to invest in receiving approvals for their building plans. So for eliminating the tedious paperwork and in the run of increasing transparency, the Rajasthan Government has implemented online approvals for building plans. The whole process of online approvals will be accessible by the end of this month. Rajasthan is the first state government taking this initiative to provide a hassle free approval procedure for building plans.

“The government has created a complete end-to-end procedure for the builders through which they can easily obtain an NOC. Decreasing the manual intervention will improve the ease of doing business in the state which in turn will attract more and more builders and developers in the state” said Manjit Singh, principal secretary, local self-government.

The user-friendly ‘Building Plan Approval System’ (BPAS) was launched by Minister for Urban Development & Housing (UDH) and Local Self Government (LSG), Rajpal Singh Shekhawat. He approved two commercial project building plans online in Jaipur which is situated at Bhiwadi and Udaipur respectively. It’s a matter of pride for Rajasthan to become the first state in the country to initiate such facility through which a building plan can be cleared online within maximum 30 days. A fast track approval will also be in place by 1 August, the Minister informed.

The BPAS incorporates all facilities like online submission, processing, site inspection, release of building plan approval as well as payment of the fee.

The BPAS has been hosted on Single Sign on the website of State Government https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in under implementation of ‘Business Reform Action Plan 2015’ of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) by the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP).  This benefit can also be availed of in the ongoing Single Window Clearance System http://swcs.rajasthan.gov.in/ .
