Alwar juvenile rape reminds us that we, humans have degraded down to the level of animals. We’ve failed to protect our kids, the women of our house as we’re vulnerable to lust, greed, inhumanity and all sorts of evils around us.

Alwar juvenile rape—a stain on Rajasthan’s clean and transparent image, has put humanity to shame, yet again. A 7-year-old child battling for her life on a hospital bed in Alwar reminds us that we, humans have degraded down to the level of animals. We’ve failed to protect our kids, the women of our house as we’re vulnerable to lust, greed, inhumanity and all sorts of evils around us.

This Thursday, in the dead of the night, a 7-year old innocent was abducted in sleep from her house by an unknown youth. The convict took her to a nearby jungle and raped her at knife point in the wee hours. After executing the abominable act, the accused escaped from the crime scene, leaving the girl unattended and hurt near an agricultural farm.

Meanwhile, the father of the missing girl searched high and low for her daughter. He found her crying on the road by the farm, in a critical condition. She was immediately rushed to the intensive care unit by her family and villagers in a nearby district hospital. Upon gaining consciousness, the girl gave her statement to the police. She told the police that she was abducted by an unidentified person from her house around 3:30 am in the morning. The offender threatened her not to inform anyone about the incident.

The case was presided by SP Parmal Singh, who recorded the statements of villagers. He got a sketch made of the accused, based on the descriptions provided by the cops. Following the events at hospital, Rajasthan police has probed criminal investigation against the offender. Meanwhile, the chairperson of RSCPCR (Rajasthan State commission for protection of child rights), Manan Chaturvedi has directed district police officers to take a swift action against the accused.

The doctors and childcare groups are putting in best efforts to provide relief to the victim.

Alwar rape takes us back in time when a similar incident happened at Sikar a couple of years back when a teen was raped in the fields and run over by a bike by the offenders who intended to kill her. Things like this will continue happening in the country unless the government comes up with strict rules to punish the offenders. Simultaneously, we need to generate ethical awareness in the youths to prevent a re occurrence of such incidents.
