In Rajasthan, strike formations of the Army’s South Western Command went through exercise in Mahajan area close to Suratgarh. This is Vijay Prahar exercise in which more than 20000 troops are participating with fighting equipment. This information is given by Brigadier Anil Gautam, Brigadier General Staff (Information Warfare), South Western Command.
How will Vijay Prahar exercise help?
This exercise is being conducted to fine-tune jointmanship with the Indian Air Force. Vijay Prahar exercise will make commandos prepared for situations where swift offensive actions are required to be taken.
Gagan Shakti exercise will be carried out by IAF. In this exercise, IAF demonstrated their capabilities and strength to handle adversaries. Talking about Vijay Prahar exercise, Brigadier said that in the immediate wake of Gagan Shakti, this exercise was being held for testing and refining jointmanship and maximizing the impact of the joint operations.
Areas focused during these exercise
In these exercises, the focus were on real-time information, deployment and using satellite-based surveillance capabilities, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities, drones, electronic warfare capabilities and radars. These all are focused with an aim to have a transparent battlefield. The other aspects were fighting capabilities through armed helicopters and operating in nuclear environment.
He said the exercise would end on May 9 and it would be witnessed by Army chief General Bipin Rawat and other senior officers.
