VASTRA – An International Textile and Apparel Fair 2017 is an all-encompassing trade fair and conference on Textiles and Apparel which present a fusion of the finest and the latest in textile products from fiber to fashion, services and technology.
This exposition offers a grand platform to budding designers for Design Display Wall. For showcasing art and crafts of Rajasthan, there is Rajasthan Pavilion. Business Fashion Shows and Live demonstration of traditional textile crafts are other highlights of expo.
Since 2012, the year of inception, VASTRA has succeeded in building its goodwill in textile and apparel sectors globally. This expo is emerged as a great opportunity for boosting textile and apparel sectors not only in India but also internationally.
At VASTRA-2016, there were 179 exhibitors covering entire textile domain, 85 International buyers from across the globe and 122 representatives from Indian buying houses. This year, there are more than 250 exhibitors from 13 states. Talking about international participation, there are around 300 buyers from more than 130 countries. More than 150 Indian buying houses/agents are the participants.
VASTRA-2017 aims to make people aware about entire value addition chain like fibre, technology to be used, recent and upcoming trends. During VASTRA-2017, people will find garments & apparels, leather garments, fashion trends, ethnic trends & home furnishings, technical textiles, fashion jewellery & fashion footwear and many other relevant items.
This expo is a unique platform with combination of B2C and B2B. For the first three days, the trade will be devoted exclusively to B2B and the last day i.e. 24 th September,2017 will have B2C activities, involving retail sales.
Ms. Mugdha Sinha, the Managing Director of RIICO also threw light on the new features of VASTRA-2017. These features are Roundtable Conference on Making Rajasthan a Garment Hub, Sari Workshop and Jaipur Designers Festival.
VASTRA-2017 is inaugurated by the Union Minister for Textiles and Information & Broadcasting, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani. Shri Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, minister of Rajasthan Industries is the Guest of Honour.
At VASTRA-2017, Smt. Irani, Union Minister for Textiles and Information & Broadcasting said that the textile sector will play a great role in Make in India movement. She asked to explore more opportunities in this sector. Praising the unique art of bandhej, chapai and gotapatti on clothes, Smt Irani talked about global acclamation of this art of Rajasthan.
This year it is 6th edition of VASTRA which started from today itself. The event will be held from 21-24 September, 2017 at Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC) at Jaipur, Rajasthan. The exhibition is being organized in 3600 sq. m of the area. The exhibition is open between 10 AM to 6 PM.
With the support of Government of Rajasthan, this mega event of textiles and apparels is organized by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. (FICCI)
