The Government has planned to develop Sambhar Lake into the world’s first salt tourism site, soon. The work has been done under Swadesh Darshan Scheme. Union Ministry launched the scheme to promote tourism in the country. The Central Ministry has sanctioned INR 64Cr for the project. Henceforth, the state government started working towards developing the Sambhar Lake tourism.
Here, the visitors will get to enjoy a heritage train ride. Besides the lake, they will get the view of the nation and international migratory birds besides. The government is developing a religious place also under the project. A beautiful caravan park and a 6-kilometer long cycle track are also under construction. Union tourism minister KJ Alphons and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje will inaugurate the development work this month.
BJP Government aims to promote Sambhar Lake tourism on worldwide level. By merging the old heritage with new structure, the focus is on giving the tourists an experience of a lifetime. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is successfully doing the extensive works under the central government Schemes.

Project to develop international tourism site
Sambhar Lake is famous as the biggest inland salt lake all over the world. Under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, the government is doing dozens of works in the salt lake. Tourists will get to ride an attractive heritage train through the salt lake.
A 10-Kilometre long meter gauge railway track is being spread before the heritage look train will run on it. The government has planned to build a beautiful caravan park in the area in addition to a ground to organize fairs and festivals.
Along with this, the government will develop a tourist information center, bird watching center, cultural center, open air theatre, shopping mall, and a food stalls. Henceforth, Sambhar Lake will become the major tourist attraction in the state.
