The much-awaited list is out. If you are in Rajasthan and are a student who keeps a tab on all student-oriented happenings, you would want to know (if you don’t know already) that the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has announced its final list of candidates for the Rajasthan University Students’ Union (RUSU) elections to be held on August 31.
Here are the candidates whose names have been declared by the ABVP:
• President – Rajpal Chaudhary
• General Secretary – Dinesh Gared
• Joint Secretary – Minal Sharma
• Vice President – Anuradha Meena
On the other hand, NSUI has released its list of candidates and here it is:
• President: Ranveer Singhania
• General secretary: Chetan Yadav
• Vice President: Sonam Gurjar
• Joint secretary: Numan Khan
A look at what happened last year
For the post of President, ABVP had chosen Rajput candidate Sanjay Machedi. However, he lost to Pawan Yadav by a big difference of 2600 votes.
What’s more interesting?
This is for the first time that ABVP has announced candidates for the post of president and general secretary from the same cast.
However, the past is evident of ABVP’s policy of selecting candidates from different casts for the post of president and general secretary. The two candidates for the post of President and General Secretary are from the Jat community. Not only this, it has not given any tickets to any Rajput candidate.
How were these candidates selected?
Candidates are selected and prepared this panel on the basis of vote bank comprising of Jat and Meena.
The ABVP candidates, whose names have been released are campaigning around the campus of Rajasthan University. The campaign is aimed at making the student familiar with the candidates. It will help candidates win votes and influence the students, understand their ideology, etc.
