Rajasthan- the desert state of India was known for severe dust storms in the Thar that displayed a shift in sand dunes at different times of the day until December 2013. When CM Vasundhara Raje came to power in state, she whipped up a storm of her own, by launching ‘zara hat ke’ schemes to change the regulatory landscape in the Pink City. It has been 3.5 years since then and Raje’s powerful schemes like Bhamashah, Rajshree, Jal Swavlamban, Annapurna Bhandars and Rasois are on the run.
Today, Rajasthan is a national leader in skill development, e-governance and women-centric schemes.
Here are just a few examples of how Raje’s flagship schemes changed countless lives in Rajasthan.
- Jaitaran’s Shaitan Singh is an Independent Employee Today
24-year-old Shaitan Singh received training in office assistance at RSLDC’s skill-development centre. After successfully completing his course, the Jaitaran native didn’t just get a certificate endorsing his talents, but he also got recruited as field credit officer in a reputed firm. Today, he draws a monthly salary of Rs 19600, which is a source of inspiration for all.
- Jamvaramgarh’s Sona Devi Got her Right as Pensioner
Jamavaramgarh’s Sona Devi is a retired class IV government employee. Earlier, her pension arrived at a nearby post office every month. The lady had to wait in long queues to receive her pension. However, after Rajasthan government re-introduced Bhamashah Yojana in 2013, Sona Devi registered for the scheme in a helper’s camp organized in her Gram Panchayat.
Thereafter, the government opened a bank account in her name and dispatched a Bhamashah card for her convenience. Today, with the help of Bhamashah Card, Sona Devi not just gets her pension on time, but also avails a multitude of services like scholarship, free treatment etc. for.
- Amrit’s Family Enjoys Quality Foodstuff and Provisions
Amrit, a villager living approximately 45 kilometers away from Jaisalmer had to explore the entire market in search of foodstuffs and quality provisions. Some shopkeepers sold goods at unusually high prices. The entire village including Amrit had to suffer unnecessary expenditures due to this. After Raje government introduced Annapurna Bhandars (rural malls), the shopkeepers started selling goods via PoS machines. Not only this, as soon as the goods arrive in shop, the villagers registered under this scheme are regularly notified on their phones.
The villagers can access nutritional food items and high-quality provision goods at a price less than the MRP.
That’s not all. Countless other lives were changed, thanks to Rajasthan government’s efforts.
