In Rajasthan, Raje government has taken a step for the benefit of the people of the state. It has decided to reinstate land allotments at concessional rates to as per the need of various castes and communities. BJP government is working on this house allotment scheme. Government said that allotment rates have not been fixed yet for the same. The former government had allotted the land at 5% of the price.
This system of land allocation as per caste was originally started by Congress government in Rajasthan. But, BJP government refuted that it is not caste based affair.
Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Rajasthan, Shrichand Kriplani, told, “See, its like this is not a new issue. Any party may have the government in Rajasthan. Always the self supporting organisations, educational trusts and the hospitals…who open school, we give them (land) on concessional rate… And I, as a minister, can give concession upto 50 per cent and if concession of more than 50 per cent is needed, then it goes to the cabinet of ministers.”
In fact, the UDH department had shot off letters to all urban improvement trusts (UITs) and development authorities seeking records of land allotments cancelled earlier.
On asking further question, he added that there is no allocation of land on the basis of caste. BJP formed a Trust. In that, we do not consider the community. His statement made it cleared that any community can be benefitted as this is available to all.
Mr. Kriplani asserted that BJP government is still on previous decision about the cancelling the allotment of land on caste basis taken by Congress government.
“Whatever decisions were written in haste during Congress’ rule six months before the rule came, they were stopped as they were taken in haste. Now, we are taking them up one by one,” Kriplani stated.
