The state government has planned to develop parks labeled as Beti Gaurav Udyan in one of its kind project to promote the birth of girl child in Rajasthan. The objective of developing these parks is to communicate that girls play an important part of the society.
The Beti Gaurav Udyan project was announced by CM Raje for 18 cities out of which land has been allocated for 15 places and the work is also in progress. These cities are Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Kota, Bhilwara, Abu Road, Udaipur, Bikaner, Sikar, Barmer, Sawai Madhopur, Bhiwadi, Pali, Bharatpur, Chittorgarh, Alwar, Jaisalmer, and Ganganagar.

Reportedly, the project will serve two purposes of fulfilling the social objective of promoting the birth of girl child and of developing a green cover in all these places. It would encompass green cover, Landscape, senior citizen’s park, children’s park, herbal garden, flower garden, yoga garden, jogging track, cycle track, acupressure track, open gym, place to feed birds, game zone, play area, cafeteria, pond with boating facility, open theatre, art gallery, and common utility.
There will be a free entry for the girl child. The open theatre will be utilized to promote dance and play while the art gallery will showcase the achievements of female sportspersons at national and international levels.
As per the reports, 25% of these parks will be developed through public-private partnership while 75% will be developed through community participation and Corporate Social Responsibility.
The area ranges from 5 to 50 acres, depending upon the location. All these parks will be based on a different theme; while Abu Road will have tourism theme, Barmer is going to have a clubhouse theme with games like table tennis and badminton.
