Digitisation has a broad-ranging impact. The citizen-centric digital services introduced by the government improve standards of living, support innovation, empower education, create a smart, secure society, whet digital and entrepreneurship skills. Moreover, it opens up several unprecedented possibilities for development. This why digitisation is essential for a safe and progressive modern society.
Keeping this in mind, Rajasthan government partnered with IT giant Cisco to speed up the digital transformation of the state. Accordingly, the Government of Rajasthan signed two major MoUs on Water resource management and Higher education with CISCO. The MoUs cover two key sectors required for healthy development of the society– clean drinking water and girl education. These MoUs were signed at the SMS Convention Centre in the presence of Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje and CISCO CEO John Chambers.
- Expected Developments to Empower Women Education
SAARC President Dinesh Malkani feels that digitisation of women education in Rajasthan will create a highly skilled workforce to ensure healthy competition for jobs in future. Digital classrooms will provide equal opportunities for all and help Rajasthan women move ahead with new and advanced career choices.
Cisco, that already runs numerous academy courses in 25 government ITIs will serve as a training ground for next-gen women leaders. They’ll use the latest technologies to whet decision-making abilities, practical skills and entrepreneurship qualities of trainees in digital learning centres.
- Clean Drinking Water– Real Treasure in the Heat Stricken state of Rajasthan
For several years Rajasthan has been battling low annual rainfall rates, droughts and famines that result in acute water scarcity. Most of the water sources present in Rajasthan are brackish (saline) in nature and unfit for consumption.
Hopefully, the SOI signed between Cisco and state water resource department will help solve the water crisis prevalent in Rajasthan. It will prevent water wastage, reduce the unwanted contents and make provisions for water conservation.
A special presentation on the scope of IT interventions in water resources, higher education, energy consumption, labour and skill development was delivered to familiarise people on various aspects of digitisation. Both Cisco and Rajasthan government are committed to the cause of Skill India and Digital Rajasthan. This partnership will not just foster innovation but also drive the state towards change by preparing people through digital learning for bigger opportunities.
