Operation Milap has proved to be a massive success for it has offered a new lease of life to numerous underprivileged lives and put an end to slavery for over 500 minors.
What is the real menace?
Many children who deserve to be educated to achieve their dreams, succumb to the clutches of slavery. Children are made the bread earners at such a tender age. They are forcefully put to work at factories, hotels, etc. They are dragged into the clutches of slavery. They lead an unjustfied and miserable life, but why? To earn meagre money to run their home’s kitchens?
A special drive by the anti-human trafficking cell of the police set out on the Operation Milap. The relentless efforts fo the team helped them unearth 500 such helpless children from Hadouti region.
Anshuman Bhomia, Superintendent of Police said, “From the Kota region, a total of 336 children have been rescued, out of which 237 were found working at hotels, dhabas, messes, factories and shops”.
The Hadouti region consists of the districts of Bundi, Baran, Jhalawar and Kota. Here are the stats for a few Hadouti zones:
Bundi
A total of 75 children from Bundi were unearthed and rescued. At least five of the 75 children have been reunited with their families, said Kaniz Fatima, Bundi’s circle in-charge of the anti-human trafficking cell. Parents of the rescued girl were found in Madhya Pradesh, where the girl was handed over to her family.
Jhalawar
A total of 89 children were rescued from the Jhalwar district. Among those, 37 children were those who got lost in 2016. Out of these 37 children, 22 were boys, said Praveen Vyas, the head of the anti-human trafficking cell in Jhalawar.
Children belonging to an age group of 5-12 years were rescued from various parts of the country. 196 of the rescued children belong to Rajasthan, while others hail from Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh.
As a matter of fact, a total of 39 cases has been lodged under the Juvenile Act. Not only this, over 58 people have been detained under the Operation, Bhomia, Kota Police Superintendent added.
