MP Arjun Lal Meena launched the e-jansuvidha kiosk at Udaipur City Railway Station on Sunday. This kiosk would help the railway passengers to locate trains, coaches, and public utilities at the station. It will also give the layout of the station, making it easier to navigate through the platforms, which is otherwise confusing.
Udaipur Divisional Railway Manager Puneet Chawla told the media that the kiosk would be very helpful especially for those who are new to the city. Instead of relying on others’ help, a passenger can simply go to the kiosk and take note of the map to reach a particular section of the station.
The service of e-jansuvidha has been launched as a part of the Digital India initiative and includes 4 options. These include station layout with the location of public utilities, Train status with coach information, PNR Status with coach information, train status with tourist places in the city.
All one has to do is to insert the train number and then the machine would display information regarding all the important details. It would give out information about the platform number at which the train is arriving and the exact location of the coach the passenger is traveling in. The e-jansuvidha kiosk would also help in choosing the right gate while boarding the train and the location of the foot over bridge.
Apart from MP Arjun Lal Meena, others who were present during the launch include Chittorgarh MP CP Joshi, Udaipur (Rural) MLA Phool Singh Meena, Udaipur Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari, and DRM Puneet Chawla.
