A man in the state of Rajasthan was detained for hoisting a Pakistani flag on the occasion of 70th Independence Day of India. He was allegedly hoisting a Pakistani Flag on the terrace of his home in the Mansorovar area of Jaipur district.
The neighbours when saw this, informed the police immediately and the officers reached the place at their earliest. The man was identified as Kapil Shastri and it was later discovered that he is mentally disturbed.
Police told, “A case against Shastri was registered under section 153 A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, residence and 295 (insult the religion of any class) of IPC. Primary probe reveals that the accused is not mentally fit and said that he picked up the flag few years ago from a slum area and brought to his house.”
Anil Jaimini, SHO of the Mansarover police station, said, “His grandfather was a freedom fighter.” He was detained but was later released. “A medical examination of the accused will be conducted tomorrow,” he added.
