Solar tender/solar deals in the Indian state of Rajasthan decreased to INR 4.35 (USD 0.065/EUR 0.058) and INR 4.36 per kWh for the winning offers in a 130-MW in a January order. This decrease is very close to lowest bid ever which is of INR 4.34/kWh.
Three corporations have been fortunate to beg the tender and they are the popular Mahindra Susten, which is part of India’s Mahindra Group, the Shapoorji Pallonji and the Prayatna Developers of the Adani Group. The three have bagged 60 MW, 50 MW and 20 MW in the tender respectively. Mahindra Susten and Shapoorji Pallonji have both paid INR 4.35/kWh each for their respective tenders whereas Prayatna Developers had received the tender with a bid of INR 4.36/kWh .
Apart from these, Fortum Finnsurya Energy has received a 70-MW project earlier in the month of January in Rajasthan. The company then has paid INR 4.34 per kWh as the bid of the tender.
India had a total of 5.8 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in March, out of which around 1.3 GW was comprised by the state of Rajasthan.
