For transgender people in Rajasthan, skills training will be provided. This is a great initiative by government of Rajasthan to provide them with alternative means of livelihood. Although Central Government has already given them status of third gender and employed them in various sectors. This new employment initiative will also help them.
The plan to provide skill training to transgender was begun in November 2017 but could not implement. This has been started by Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation (RSLDC). Under this, RSLDC plans to impart skill training in cooking, making leather products and jewellery and as beauticians.
The training will be provided to those who have Aadhar card or Voter cards. So, transgender community is required to have their ID proofs.
In fact, managing director of RSLDC Krishna Kunal said that the issues related to training for transgender people would be solved. Efforts are there to impart inclusive training through training partners or transgender board.
