Hillary Clinton, the former US Secretary of State, got injured in Jodhpur after which she had to cancel some of her evening programmes. She reached Jodhpur on Tuesday and stayed at the Umaid Bhawan Palace. After getting injured, a team of orthopedists from a nearby, private hospital examined her and advised her to take rest.
The team included one physician and one orthopedic surgeon. The owner of Goyal hospital named Anand Goyal confirmed the news. Hillary complained of pain in her hand which turned out to be a sprain.
Since she was advised to take rest, the scheduled visit to Mehrangarh Fort on Tuesday evening was also canceled. Further, her schedule includes a visit to Salavas village. Here she will be interacting with the weavers and witness making of carpets. Afterward, she is going to stay at a boutique hotel Mihirgarh, located on Jodhpur Pali Highway.
Interestingly, Hillary Clinton has immense love for Rajasthan as she had once visited the state in the year 2014. Back then, she was even spotted draped in a bandhej dupatta.
Earlier on Monday, Hillary also visited Madhya Pradesh’s Mandu and Maheshwar regions including places like Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal, Champa Bawdi, Shahi Hamam, and Jama Masjid. After this visit, she was all praises for the architectural beauty of India. She was quoted as saying:
“This is such a lovely place. I came to know so much about the history and the beautiful architecture here.”
For lunch, a special dining area was arranged for her on the edge of a hill overlooking Mandu. A special staff from Holkar’s place prepared the meal including tomato mozzarella salad, tabouli salad, fruits, fresh beans, and sandwiches.
