Forest officers in the state were initially given two rightful promotions in the entire span of their service. Lately a new proposal was sent by forest department to Rajasthan State Cabinet requesting the promotional frequency to increase from two to five. It was on this Tuesday, 2nd of August that this proposal got approved by the State Cabinet.
Rajendra Rathore, the State Parliamentary Affairs Minister, after attending the cabinet meeting, told the media that, “State government would amend the Rajasthan Forest Service Act, 1962, for the purpose. There will be five salary scales in the service, including senior scale, selection scale, super-time scale and higher super-time scale.”
He further added that, “The decision had met the long-pending demand of forest officers seeking more promotion opportunities.”
Along with this, the Forest Department has been asked to plant 16 lakh trees across the State by the end of this year.
As far as other proposals are concerned, one related to direct recruitment of posts like librarians and physical training instructors and formulation of a sewerage water management policy have also been cleared by Rajasthan State Cabinet.
