Now the residents won’t need to go to the Vidyut Vitaran Nigam or other offices for a new electricity connection. The DICOM is launching a new scheme to bring the registration for electrical connections to the doorsteps. This is another digital initiative by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
The government of Rajasthan is already running the ‘Bijli Mitra’ App. DISCOM will add a new future to the app as- ‘Doorstep’, from where a person can get register after filing the details. For this feature, IT and Customer Care Center (CCC) are working together. So when the customer registers and fills the form, Bijli Mitra app will send an alert to the CCC.
Further, they will send it to the official concerned in that area and then send it to the house of the customer. Therefore, the documents will be collected, scanned and after the completion of all the requirements, the DISCOM will allot the connection.
What will connection at the doorstep provide?
The government of Rajasthan is all set to launch the scheme on October 2nd. The scheme will provide the customers with a new facility, especially people from the rural areas, who don’t understand the complex procedures.
This is just for domestic connections and not for commercial purpose. The DISCOM will deal with all the new and pending applications under the new scheme. According to some government officials, if the scheme becomes a success, the DISCOM may plan for the commercial connections too.
According to DISCOM, if the department plans the feature for the commercial connection, it will be different than domestic.
Furthermore, to get a new domestic connection is completely free of charge. The DISCOM took the decision regarding this will be taken after the testing of the scheme last week.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has already touched various stone in the way of digital development in the state. Raje’s schemes are continuously providing facilities to the people on the digital platform.
