The remote belt in the rural areas of Bikaner will soon receive electricity. The villagers residing in these distant locations will be able to avail electricity connection from next month. This step is a part of the government policy named Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojna.
The work has already started in order to provide electricity to the populated as well as non-populated areas. These villagers belong to both APL and BPL categories. As of now, 6000 pillars have already been planted. Besides, the work related to drawing power lines and applying transformers is also in progress.
Under the Deen Dayal Gram Jyoti Yojna, INR 75 Crores will be sanctioned for various tasks. The main objective will be the power supply to the rural areas. Presently, poles have been constructed in regions like Jasrasar, Dungargarh, and Napasar.
Priority will be given to those who have already applied for electricity connection. The electricity board has fixed the target to supply power to 28,000 village consumers. As part of the project, 2 GSS will be constructed in Chhatargarh and Khaajuwala regions which will lead to an improvement in the voltage.
Moreover, the electricity load of 300 feeders of 11KV will be distributed. The aim is to ensure a constant supply of electricity to the villagers. The scheme also includes a power supply to 200 government schools in these rural areas.
Through the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojna, the authorities are making sure that no part of the remote areas in Bikaner should be deprived of electricity.
