Phalodi region of the Jodhpur district in the most arid state of Rajasthan has hit the temperature 51 which is not just highest in the state but has also broke the record in the country. The bad news for the residents of the state is that the weather department says that this will continue for a next couple of days.
LS Rathore, DG, India Meteorological Department said, “Heatwave is intense in Rajasthan, Delhi, MP, Haryana and UP. Severe heatwave conditions will prevail in north, west India and central India for next 10 days. Intense heat is due to warm air from west and absence of any weather system.”
Apart from Jodhpur at 51 degrees, the capital city Jaipur was recorded at 46.5 degrees, Churu at 50.2 degrees, Barmer and Jaisalmer at 49 each and Sri Ganganagar boiled at 50 degrees.
