The ritual of alternating governments is a misconception, CM Raje said in an interview with Times Now

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is known as the people’s Chief Minister but she is also notoriously remembered with the phrase ‘8 PM, No CM’. But how much truth is there in the latter claim? She cleared the air in her recent interview with Times Now.

This interview was an eyewash and could propel her to assuming power, this year too! Here are the excerpts of what she said and what could possibly create a dent in the Congress’ election strategies.

On being asked about the ritual of alternating governments in Rajasthan, she called it a misconception saying that the Congress remained in power for 48 years – signaling that people forgot anti-incumbency during that time. She also reflected that she didn’t see any anti-incumbency on the field, she said while oozing confidence on winning the 2018 elections.

She put the reality in words very beautifully; she said BJP has a democratic system while lauding the fact that leaders of the party rise from the grassroots. “I think the Opposition has spent a lot of time messing around with caste and community politics. I need to keep the peace and need to keep the security of the people of the state,” she added. And rightly so, isn’t it?

She also briefly voiced her government’s contribution to the agriculture industry, hinting at soil cards and connection of markets.

On the matter of Ram Mandir, her answer couldn’t have got any better. She said: “I can’t speak about issues which don’t come within my purview. I am very categorical about the fact that I believe in my religion. What the SC is doing and how the temple comes up, these are all things that are going to unfold in the future in front of you. And we have leaders of our party who are very able and competent to take care of it… I am very proud of my religion but I do have respect for other people.”

She also explicitly said that she and her party would like to know who she is facing. The Congress has not revealed their Chief Ministerial candidate

On the barbaric incidents of lynching which had recently taken place in Rajasthan, her answer reflected that she saw it from a more humanized perspective. She said it’s not about cows and humans. It’s about people breaking the law. It’s about people murdering.

“Using the word lynching, you can’t take it away from the fact that this was a murder. If it’s a murder, it’ll be treated in that fashion. People were immediately put behind bars, action was taken right away. And you need to see what action government took. It’s not about people did some lynching and were not punished. They were punished, they went to jail. And as far the cows are concerned, there’s a law which people have to follow,” she added. What a noble takeaway!

Clearing the air about whether there are any clashes between the Central party leaders and her, she promptly credited the development in her era to the support of high command. She said: ‘I would have not been able to do all the development I have done without the unwavering support of Amit Shah ji and Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji.’ This statement has nipped the evil in the bud; the evil being Congress Party which is spreading rumours of a possible clash in the BJP Party.

Well, things are much clear now. We know that BJP is one democratic party, focussed on development and not infighting. They are ready to win and form their government in the forthcoming elections scheduled on December 7, 2018.

Time should tell whether history wins or development!
