The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) is the first one among the various state governing bodies who has announced to accept the Lodha Panel recommendations in full on August 10, 2016.
The press release of the cricket body announced that, “The RCA office-bearers met in Dubai to discuss and deliberate on the matters arising out of the Lodha Panel recommendations. During the meeting, the RCA office-bearers, unanimously adopted the recommendations”.
The Lodha Recommendations has made recommendations like:-
- No official will be allowed to hold a post for more than nine years.
- All the former international players will receive an automatic membership to put an end to proxy voting whereas both men and women player representatives and a nominee of the State Accountant General will also be included in the board.
Lalit Modi appreciated the efforts of the Board Members and praised them for supporting the Lodha Recommendation. “Together we have resolved to abide by the principles of transparency and prevent instances of conflict of interest,” he said. “The Lodha Committee’s in-depth and remarkable report has shown us the way. We need to not just applaud but ensure that the recommendations which have been endorsed by the Honorable Supreme Court are implemented in every way possible. This is RCA’s commitment to the highest temple of justice in the country.”
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is sincere in the matter and has provided with the last deadline of October 15th, 2016, to implement the Supreme Court appointed Lodha Committee’s first set of changes recommended for constitutional reforms.
