The land acquisition under Ninder Housing Scheme is witnessing a face-off between the Ninder farmers and JDA. The protesting villagers have buried themselves in the ground for more than 20 days now. Owing to the absence of JDA Commissioner, the decision has been pending till now. However, currently, the investigation is going on at a faster pace.
The whole issue of this protest is the disagreement of farmers over the acquisition of their lands by JDA. This land will be utilized for Ninder Housing Scheme announced in January 2011. The Jaipur Development Authority is planning to build around 10,000 houses under the scheme.
After taking possession of around 600 bighas out of 1,300 bighas of land, an amount of INR 60 Crores has been deposited by the authority. However, the villagers are not happy with the compensation as it’s not at par with the market rates.

After the announcement of the housing scheme, some farmers had already submitted their lands and in return, they are demanding developed pieces of land. Reportedly, the ones who had submitted their lands have also joined the protest.
As per the reports, a verdict is going to be announced today on the issue. On one hand, farmers don’t want their lands to be acquired while on the other hand, JDA has already appointed some portion of the land for the housing project. It’s important to note that both farmers and JDA are closely keeping an eye on the proceedings and the final decision is being awaited so that the issue can be resolved.
