Finally, the wildlife safaris in Jhalana Forest Reserve will be a real thing after lots of hassles on its way. The thing on was in the process of hit and trial from so many days and will finally be an organized affair. Also, the forest department is working on the flair that how safaris will be arranged all other national parks in Rajasthan.

The forest minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar mentioned, “First and foremost, to take care of the man-animal conflict, we have allocated Rs 7 crore Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) funds to construct 7 and 9 feet high wall to restrict the movement of animals, especially leopards into human habitation. The fencing will be done to give the forest area a sanctuary or reserve look. The principal aim is to create a world class leopard park with five solar powered tube wells in Jhalana”.

One other long term proposal is make a bridge on the Ghat ki Ghuni tunnel to make a connection between Jhalana and Galta. It will also cover the Nahargarh sanctuary for easy movement of leopards in Nahargarh forest. With this they will also have a wider area for the hospital. Khimsar mentioned, “Leopards naturally have been migrating to the two areas but we plan to create a disturbance fee area so that the Leopards can safely transit from one area to another”.

Jhalana will see the development of grasslands and ponds in the area. The flair of night safaris is increasing in the Jhalana reserve forest, for which the CCTVs have also been installed at the entry gates. CCTV cameras will also be installed at many other locations in the forest. Very soon, they will not allow the private vehicles and forest department will make arrangements of gypsys in the area. It will be similar to Ranthambore National Park.

Jhalana forest have the strength of 15-20 leopards in the area. The area is spread in almost 33 sq km. area of East Jaipur.
