Senior IAS officer Ashok Jain has become the new chief secretary of Rajasthan. Jain is a 1981-batch IAS officer who has stepped into the shoes of former Secretary OP Meena who retired from the post on Friday.
Who is Ashok Jain?
Jain who hails from Jodhpur district has held significant coveted positions in the past including the Chief Electoral Officer of Rajasthan. Not only this, from 1988-1990, he has also held the position of district collector and magistrate of Jaislamer.From 1981-batch, Ashok Jain has served as the chairman of Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation. He has also served as the additional chief secretary of social justice and empowerment department, tribal area development, women and child development.
