New Fortum Solar Power Plant in Jodhpur, India’s first Women-Governed Power Plant, Full-Load Power Generation at Chhabra—Rajasthan breaks all its Previous Records….

With its newfound energy potential Rajasthan is all set to flaunt its power generation capacity. Both Rajasthan and Gujarat contribute 50% of the total solar production in India. However, until 2015, the state was using just 0.51% of its total power potential. It won’t happen anymore. The state has made amendments in its existing energy structure to achieve positive results. Here’s how they’ve set an example.

Fortum—a world acclaimed giant in power product has commenced its operations in Jodhpur’s Bhaadla Solar Energy Park. This new energy plant has 70-Megawatt capacity. If the experts are to be believed, this is Fortum’s third largest solar energy plant. They’re already operating two more plants in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

The company won tender for this project in January 2016 through a government-organized auction. They’ve completed this project before the preset deadline. With its completion, Fortum’s current energy production capacity is 85-Megawatts. The power generated from this plant will be sold to public sector at fixed tariff for 25 years.
