CM Vasundhara Raje Smiling rajasthan

Hundreds of New Faces Associate with CM’s Smiling Rajasthan, in an Attempt to Spread Joys All Over the State.

A famous quote by Ralph W. Emerson says “Happiness is like a perfume. You cannot pour it on others without getting a few drops on yourself”. What he actually meant was in order to attain happiness, one must first learn to spread it elsewhere. Smiles multiply, when you share them others. Thinking along these lines, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje launched the #Smiling Rajasthan campaign this Diwali, aiming to spread cheers and joys of this festival all over the state.

What is Smiling Rajasthan?

Smiling Rajasthan is a duty, a gesture, a mission. A campaign, wherein anyone can volunteer to help the needy. It doesn’t matter if you donate money to poor, buy books and toys for little kids, take up some restorative project in a remote village or distribute gifts and necessities in hospitals, old age homes and orphanages, all you need to do is practice an act of generosity and pass on the message to your friends, neighbours.

Click a ‘Khushiyon wali Selfie’ (cheerful photograph) with the person you’re helping, and post it on your official Twitter, Facebook or Instagram Handle. Don’t forget to attach the #SmilingRajasthan (hash tag) with your photograph and spread the festive cheer in your surroundings.

What is The Main Objective behind This Campaign?

In today’s fast moving world, most of us are so busy that we fail to recognize sorrows, miseries and deficit around us. Millions of people exist in this world, who’re poor, needy, physically impaired or visionless. Smiling Rajasthan is a mission to illuminate the darkening world of People around us. It familiarizes us with the etiquette of living and basic values of life.

With this project, the government aims to make the present generation observant, aware and watchful of the world around us. It teaches the youth the step up and bear the responsibility of bringing a positive change in the society. In short, it gives hundreds of ailing people a reason to smile during festive season.

What do you get in return? Satisfaction and joy of helping others around you. One feels proud and happy when they’re the reason behind smiles glowing on gloomy faces.

How Can You Help People?

  • Help the neighborhood sweeper clean streets, a day after Diwali. It was probably you and your friends who created the mess so, it’s a nice gesture to help him.
  • Spare some time and visit the lone elderly couple residing nearby. Bring them sweets and help them around the house. They’ll be delighted to have some company.
  • Run free soup kitchen for a day. You can ask others to volunteer for cooking or sponsoring ration. Think of hundreds of people you can feed in the process.
  • Check out small schools and colleges in your district. If you’ve a friend who’s financially weak and cannot sponsor his own tuition, you can sponsor his fee or bring him stationary supplies. It’ll certainly help him with the studies.
  • Head to a hospital or talk to your family doctor. Find out if you can sponsor someone’s medical treatment or get them fruits, food and necessary supplies. You can also donate blood. A simple act of kindness can save someone’s life.
  • Smiling Rajasthan is not just for humans, but for animals and people, as well. Pledge to celebrate a firework-free diwali to save the plants and animals in your neighbourhood. Instead, you can use this money to adopt a pet or plant a tree in your vicinity.
