For Rajya Sabha seats, elections were held yesterday on 10th of June. There are total 4 seats for which the polling was held. The candidates are namely, Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, senior BJP leader and its National Vice President Om Prakash Mathur, Harshvardhan Sing, Ramkumar Verma and former union minister and industrialist Kama Morarka (Supported by Congress)
To win, a candidate needs to gain 41 votes and the strength of BJP in the present assembly is 160 so it is being considered that this time BJP has a firm control. One of the BJP leaders told the media that, “We have support of 166 MLAs, so we are fully confident that our four candidates will win.”
Votes will be counted by today evening and soon the results will be declared.
