Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje urged state people to use renewable sources for their energy needs. CM Raje said in her message for the day that these energy sources are the future. ‘As traditional energy sources are limited, let’s take a vow to use renewable sources of energy’ CM Raje appealed. Akshay Urja Diwas (Renewable Energy Day) is celebrated on 20th day of August, every year. The day is dedicated to the renewable sources of energy.
CM Raje further said that the renewable/sustainable energy sources like- Solar, wind, biomass and bio fuel are pollution free and renewable. ‘They are the need of the future and will help in boosting development’ CM Added.
Why Renewable Energy is important?
Akshay Urja Diwas is an awareness campaign about the development of renewable energy in India. The most advantage of using renewable sources of energy is that they are renewable. Hence they can be used without the fear of depletion. Further, increased dependence on renewable sources would mean decreased dependence on non-renewable sources like coal and fossil oil. This in-turn will not only result in prevention of natural resources but also will decrease political and economical conflicts and even wars over owning these sources.
