Assam Bawan hosts Rajasthani Food Festival under the Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat Abhiyan!
Under the ‘Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat’ Abhiyan, partnered states Assam and Rajasthan recently kicked off their celebrations of cultural heritage. The first celebration was the Rajasthani Food Festival held at Assam Bhawan on the 1st of September and inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje. The two North-Eastern and Northern states among them have 50 rivers, 77,000 square miles of arid, dry desert and 7 different languages and an Indian population of 99.83 Million. It is this factual knowledge that the program aims to make individuals interested in, in order to chalk out a brand new identity for a super and new India.
The Indian nation is an eclectic amalgamation of cultural histories and social constructs, where harmonious co-existence has been a natural way of life from time immemorial. However, the current atmosphere in India does reveal on closer inspection deep undercurrents of radical uprisings, influenced by popular political and historical opinions.
In such a case to have the Prime Minister Modi envision a new India, where we stand united and strong is a breath of fresh air. That the struggle to maintain harmony in a nation such as India is no easy task, to educate the socially and virtually active youth today with the right knowledge, in the right doses is a gargantuan task, is not lost on him. Events such as the Rajasthani Food Festival, of which artefacts, crafts, music and entertainment were also a part have a positive impact.
The ‘Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat’ Abhiyan by the Prime Minister serves the purpose of a moderator among diverse baritones. A national program that partners states together to amplify their cultural, historical and anthropological elements, it was launched on the birth anniversary of Shree Vallabhbhai Patel. The second partnership event between the states of Rajasthan and Assam will feature a similar festival hosted by the Rajasthan Official.
