In a meeting chaired by Anita Bhadel, state minister of women and child development, the registration of the play schools in Rajasthan has now been made mandatory.
In a recent development, the teaching methods which are imparted and are being practiced in the private play schools across the state will now be reviewed and regulated by the state woman and child department. This process will be accompanied by several other departments that are accountable to childhood learning in Anganwadi centers and private play schools.
The current scenario reflects that there are many play schools running across the state in large quantity with no provision to control, regulate and register for quality education and early childhood care education. As a result, a committee under the chairmanship of ICDS director is being formulated to draft the regulations and guidelines for education in private play schools. The committee is said to present its report within a month.
This decision is aimed towards keeping an eye on the syllabus and teaching methods in these schools and setting up of the standard parameters to impart education.
Besides this, the department has also decided to run a campaign “Anganwadi Chalo” starting from July 3 with the aim to attract the toddlers and their parents towards government-run centers.
Under this campaign, the government will run many awareness campaigns and broadcast functioning of the center through audio and video messages at the public spots. Renovation work of old and dilapidated centers with the support of the Panchayati Raj department will also be conducted. Apart from this students will be provided with a certificate of completing education.
The basic aim of the government is to impart high-quality education to the children. Education being a basic foundation for the human fulfillment and sustainable development of an individual, the government of Rajasthan promotes a holistic approach to education to foster the balanced development of education system.
