Well, we have always heard it’s the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar which are leading in providing the nation with the highest number of IAS. But let us tell you this scenario is changing over the period of time with candidates from Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and south cracking the toughest examination in the country.
Around 1 crore students appeared for the IAS examination in 2015. According to the data analysis done by Business Standards, Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state of the country continues to be the number one state in providing the nation with IAS officer with around 118 students clearing it every year. But the twist in the story came when Rajasthan emerged as the second state with the second highest number of IAS students in 2015. Rajasthan provided the nation 97 IAS officers in 2015, and grabbed the second position in the list leaving behind Bihar.
Bihar and Andhra Pradesh on the other hand has only provided 68 nad 61 IAS officers in the year 2015 respectively.
