Rajasthan is ready to launch National Nutrition Mission (NNM). This mission will address several health of the state. There are issues like poor growth of kids of under-5 age group. There are also issues like nutrition problems of non-pregnant women and pregnant women. But before bringing this mission, it is also important to make a well designed action plan. For this purpose, a convergent state plan of action will be held.
Under this plan, there will be discussions on challenges. They will identify effective strategies to address under-nutrition. It will be held in direction of Niti Ayog. There is also emphasis on making district action plans and implementing them. Without effective action plans, nutrition mission will fail.
What are the health issues to be addressed?
The kids of under-5 age are diagnosed with stunted growth, wasted growth and severely wasted growth. In fact, it is also found that women face the issue of low haemoglobin. Both pregnant and non-pregnant women are suffering from Anaemia.
Details about National Nutrition Mission
National Nutrition Mission will be held in phases. In the first phase, it will be applied to 315 districts and in second one to 235 districts in 2018-19. The third phase will be held in year 2019-20 in which rest of the districts will be covered.
