Rajasthan Government is taking new initiatives to promote agriculture in its own sense. A higher degree of sustainable development is required for the overall growth of Rajasthan. For this purpose, Rajasthan is organizing Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet, 2016 (GRAM 2016) in Jaipur between November 9 and 11, 2016. Such events will play a major role in the progress of the state in terms of technological innovations and high-yielding practices.
Rajasthan Government Promotes Agriculture By GRAM
It is decided that this would be a three-day event which is being organized in association with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). It would be an international event where farmers, academicians, scientists, technologists, agribusiness companies and policy makers from all over the world will gather to discuss the agricultural event.
Rajasthan is the major producer of oilseeds and pulses, and thus GRAM 2016 has been organized. Rajasthan is also one of the largest producers of cash crops like guar seed, jowar, and bajra. The main focus behind organizing such event in Rajasthan is the empowerment and educating the farmers about the ways and techniques of sustainable growth in agriculture along with multiplying their income at least twice by the end of 2022.
A senior official of the Department of Agriculture, Government of Rajasthan said that “The government of Rajasthan has initiated many policy changes in the agriculture sector in recent past which relates to the technological and infrastructural interventions for the sustainable enhancement of farm productivity, reducing post-harvest losses and promoting farm-based industries. Investors from across the globe will be able to know the scope and potential of doing business with over 40,000 farmers who are expected to attend this three-day event”.
So, altogether it could be hoped that the agriculture sector of Rajasthan is getting a golden opportunity to this event which will help the farmers over here to build their own future.
