Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is carrying on her Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra in Jaipur division. She started the yatra of this division from 20 September at Dausa. On the fourth day of the yatra, she addressed the public gathering at Buhana and Jhunjhunu. She said that due to tireless efforts of BJP government, the water of the Himalayas has been brought to Shekhawati region.
Kumbharam Canal Lift project
The Kumbharam Canal Lift project has changed the lives of people of and Jhunjhunu and Baggar. Due to this project, the sweet water from the Himalayas is available or these places. In the second phase of this project, about 700 crores have been approved and the work will also start soon. The second phase of project will provide drinking water to 190 villages and 70 structures of Buhana, Chidawa and Surajgarh.
Other Details
An MoU was signed 24 years back to bring Yamuna’s water to Shekhawati’s land but the project remained pending. Due to BJP’s efforts, the Central Water Commission permitted to supply water from the Tajewala headwork through pipeline. This project will benefit Churu, Sikar and Jhunjhunu districts. Water for irrigation will also be made available to the people.
In her address, Chief Minister mentioned that Shekhawati is the land of martyrs. She said that special rules are made to give government jobs to the dependents of martyrs who died after August 15, 1947. Apart from giving 5 percent reservation to the ex-servicemen in the state services, the honorarium to the families of the martyrs is doubled. CM Raje also said that the rules relates to law and order will be resolved soon.
