The state education department is gearing up to push the teachers to make Pravesh Utsav a success with record-breaking admissions this year. This Pravesh Utsav aka admission festival is likely to be carried out from May 1 to May 19 and from June 19 to June 30. The department has also hinted that the teachers will be given different outreach activities to reach out to families so that they can get their kids enrolled.
An awareness programme in the form of ‘Prabhat Pheras’ will be carried out in several areas where the importance of education and achievements by respective schools will be highlighted to convince parents to get their children enrolled in those schools. Not just the teachers will be going door-to-door but they will also be required to find out the dropouts and admit the students again.
The department hopes to ensure that no child is left behind in this special drive. For this, the department has already started activating school management committees, gram panchayats in rural areas, civil society, as well as NGOs. As per the source, every teacher will be given the target of 20 students in their locality who are school dropouts or illiterates.
As per the education department, the admission festival is going to increase enrolments in schools and it won’t leave a single child devoid of education. The government has also claimed to have added 18 Lakh more students as compared to the private schools since BJP came to power in 2013.
The department is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the success of the drive. Moreover, the government is trying to eliminate every possibility for Congress to raise any issue on education.
