As the third phase of Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan has kicked off, new targets have been set for water conservation to make Rajasthan self-reliant regarding water needs. While the top priority will be given to water conservation, more steps will be taken to increase groundwater level and to improve surface water flow in the watershed projects.
The ministers introduced the third phase in various districts and urged the public to contribute to the efforts made by the state government in conserving water. Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria launched the campaign at Sanganer.
During the launch, Mr. Kataria said that Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan has addressed the issue of the water crisis in several areas. The 4-year long program has 4 phases, each year dedicated to one phase. As the program has entered the third phase, the government continues to undertake works for water conservation.
