Kota—the erstwhile Rajput kingdom of Bundi and the biggest coaching hub of India, will knuckle down to explore promising opportunities in agriculture. Being a major contributor to Rajasthan’s growth in agriculture, Kota division is likely to organize educational seminars in the upcoming 3-day event— GRAM 2017. Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet in Kota is a sequel to India’s biggest agricultural convention (GRAM 2016) that was held in Jaipur last November. The idea is to enhance farming skills of Kota farmers.

• Kota division has successfully produced a bounteous harvest consisting of grains, pulses and cereals (mainly Mustard, Soybean, Urad, Paddy, Sesame and Mustard etc). The government is likely to offer more alternatives to farmers this season.
• Blessed with fertile soil and abundant water, the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants like Ashwagandha may be explored.
• Horticulture—a technique of selecting different characteristics, mixing and cultivating them in a single plant has gifted us some rare varieties of rose, white Muesli, Nigella, Guava, oranges and Aonla. Proper research and experimentation in this field is likely to create sustainable sources of income for farmers.
