For Rajasthan, it is a great achievement that it will have a second special Japanese industrial zone in Ghiloth on nearly 500 acres of land. This zone will be made to focus on sectors like ceramics and electronic systems design and manufacturing. The announcement for the second zone made at Investor’s meet in Tokyo in year 2015.
Rajasthan has its first special Japanese Industrial Zone at Neemrana in Alwar district of the state. For the Japanese zone, Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd (RIICO) has earmarked 1,167 acres of land at Neemrana. Many Indian and Japanese companies including Daikin, Mikuni India Pvt. Ltd., Nissin Brake, Mytex Polymer, TPR Autoparts Manufacturing India Pvt. Ltd. and Nippon Pipe, among others have invested in this zone.
During the meet of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe two years before, PM’s of both the countries aimed to double Japan’s foreign direct investment in India in upcoming years and work closely towards further expanding their bilateral trade. Special Japanese Industrial Zone in Neemrana, Rajasthan is outcome of the special economic relationship between Japan and Rajasthan.
For Japanese Zone at Neemrana, an MOU was signed between RIICO and JETRO on 21 July 2006 which kept on extending. Neemrana is located in Alwar district of Rajasthan. This is at 122 kms away from Delhi and 150 kms away from Jaipur.
RIICO is a premier agency of Government of Rajasthan that has played an important role in the industrial development of Rajasthan while JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), is a government-related organization that works to promote mutual trade and investment between Japan and the rest of the world.
As Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is on two-days visit in India so Rajasthan has great expectations from this visit. Rajasthan government is eagerly waiting for further announcement towards development of Special Japanese Industrial Zone in Neemrana, Rajasthan.
