Jaipur Literature Fest is going to seek the attention of the attendees on Rajasthan’s rich heritage by organizing two Heritage Evenings on 26th and 28th January. As per the latest reports, these evenings will be organized at Amber Fort and Hawa Mehal and will be marked by theatrical, musical, and cultural performances.
The Heritage Evenings will be organized with the joint efforts of Jaipur Literature Fest and Rajasthan Tourism to celebrate Jaipur’s rich cultural heritage. The entry to these events will be permitted only through invitations. As per Mr. Sanjoy Roy, Managing Director, Teamwork Arts, Producer of the festival, the event will showcase some of the best musical and theatrical performances, which have been specially curated to bring people closer to “Rajasthan’s spellbinding spirit and landscape”.
Talking about the evenings, on 26th January, a multimedia dance and theatre production named “The Troth-Usne Kaha Tha” will be showcased. It will feature UK’s versatile dancers who will take the audience through the story of love, loss, and sacrifices during World War I. It would narrate the story of rural Punjab in the late 1800s and the strife-torn Belgian trenches.
On 28th January, a Majestic Evening will be held at Amber Fort. The program will begin with Sarangi recital by Ustad Kamal Sabri. This performance will be followed by Ghazal performance by singer, songwriter, and composer Shekhar Ravijani. He will be giving a tribute to the legendary ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh. These soulful performances will include masterpieces like ‘Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi’, Hothon se Choo lo tum’, ‘Jhuki Jhuki Si Nazar’, ‘Tum Itna Jo muskura rahe ho’ and others.
