The 11th edition of IPL would be quite interesting as many changes are taking place on the continuous basis. In fact, many replacements have been made in the IPL teams and few scandals broke out. As few days left to IPL opening, there is one big change held in Rajasthan Royals team. South African player Heinrich Klaasen will now replace Steve Smith in the Rajasthan Royals’ squad.
Recently, Australian players Steve Smith and David Warner were caught in a ball-tampering scandal in South Africa. They were given 12-month ban by Cricket Australia. The pair has also been banned from this year’s IPL starting from 7th April (Saturday).
As per the statement of BCCI, Klaasen was bought for INR 50 lakh from the Registered and Available Player Pool (RAPP) list. He has replaced Smith whom Rajasthan had retained for 120 million rupees.

The wicket-keeper batman Klaasen is 26-year-old and recently made his international debut against India in 50-over format. He also won the Man of the Match award in his second ODI. Klaasen has also played three T20Is for his country and scored 92 runs at an average of 30.66. In four ODIs played for South Africa, he scored 110 runs at an average of 36.66.
This year is special for Rajasthan Royals as its coming back in IPL after they were suspended in 2015 for two years owing to betting allegations.
