Santanu Chaudhury, the Director of Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI) Pilani will be the next director of IIT-Jodhpur. He will take over the present director CVR Murty whose tenure was ended on 10th September. This appointment has been done by HRD ministry. Chaudhary will be the third director of prestigious educational institute IIT-Jodhpur. He also delivered lecture on ‘Digital Transformation: A New Industrial Revolution’ on the occasion of 51st Engineers’ Day celebration in Jodhpur.
Know who Santanu Chaudhary is
Santanu Chaudhary is alumni of IIT-Kharagpur. He had done B.Tech in Electronics and Electrical Communication and also holds a doctorate from IIT-Kharagpur. He has been a faculty member at IIT-Delhi. More than 250 research papers by Chaudhary are published in national and international journals. He is also co-ordinator of projects under Indian Digital Heritage programme of DST. He has great interest in image processing, embedded systems and machine learning.
Santanu Chaudhary has also developed innovative techniques like cloud based image super-resolution scheme, orientation detection scheme and embedded platform for smart camera.
