Rajasthan government will organize the second phase of India’s biggest ‘Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet’ or GRAM 2017 in Kota this month to reach out to maximum farmers and agriculturists in Rajasthan. The much anticipated agritech meet—a brainchild of Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje will be telecasted live through television and webinars so that farmers across the state can benefit from this global agricultural interaction between farmers, researchers and agro-marketers. After tremendous success of Jaipur GRAM 2016, Raje government is planning to plant its roots in other regions to achieve positive outcomes in future.
According to Rajasthan agriculture minister Prabhulal Saini, Kota farmers will directly benefit from this global agricultural event. GRAM is an international platform that combines traditional agriculture with mechanized farming and modern agro-irrigation technologies.
- After Jaipur, this conference will be organized in each division to promote the agriculture potential of Kota before investors and entrepreneurs. It’ll attract investments for the better future of Rajasthan.
- Through GRAM, the government will educate the farmers regarding the intricacies of agro-processing, agro-marketing and modern agriculture.
- The idea is to attract farmers towards agro-processing, direct agricultural marketing and secondary source of income. It’ll eventually boost farmers’ income before 2020.
The 3-day event will start on 24th May and last until 26th May. 10,000 farmers participating in Kota GRAM 2017 will be exposed to latest innovations in global farming, all thanks to experts from participating nations like Israel.
The government will telecast the happenings at GRAM at Atal Sewa Kendras in every region so that farmers, science students and scientists can witness debates and discussions on important topics related to gardening, animal husbandry, pisciculture, apiculture, pearl farming etc.
According to Kota district collector Naresh Kumar Thakral, GRAM Kota will host ‘Jaajam baithak’ (expert sessions) and chaupals where farmers can share their problems with agriculture experts and seek solutions to boost their productivity.
Farmers from Boondi, Baran and Jhalawar will be registered via an activation program so they can participate in GRAM. The government is hopeful it’ll create better opportunities for learning and income in rural Rajasthan.
