Chief Minister’s Cabinet Meeting which was held on Wednesday cleared the air about opening Rajasthan Out-of-Turn job vacancies for Sports Medal Winners Rules 2017. Medalist sportspersons from the state will now be awarded by the state government. The rules pave the way for government jobs to those who have won a gold medal in the Olympics, Commonwealth, Asiad, Paralympics in both national and world championships.

After the Cabinet meeting, Mr. Rajendra Rathore, state parliamentary affairs minister said that, “Jobs to medalist sportsperson was an announcement made in the 2016-17 budget speech made by CM Raje. Rathore shared the details with media persons that the sportsperson, who won a medal at the Olympics or a Gold medal at Commonwealth or Asiad, will be appointed in the state administrative services.

He also added that the sportspersons who have won silver or bronze medals in the Asiad or Commonwealth games or those who have won world cups or who have participated in Olympics will be directly appointed in state subordinate services.

“National level medalists and winners along with those who have participated in Paralympics would be directly appointed in ministerial services.” said Rathore. He also said that the eligible sportspersons will have to apply within three years of receiving the acknowledgement. Also, age will not be a bar for this purpose. The required educational qualification to claim the coveted designation can be easily attained by players within duration of five years of their appointment.
