The state of Rajasthan has been playing the see-saw, as far as its electoral process is concerned; oscillating between the BJP and Congress every five years. This time, as the state is nearing towards its polls, the sentiments seem to be ditching the ritual; the public is being a Pro-BJP and showing immense support to the incumbent government led by CM Raje.
With their series of scams and cases of felony, Congress is staring at a defeat in the coming elections. Knowing that the party wouldn’t be able to enjoy victory in the forthcoming elections, Congress has taken the backseat in conducting rallies and promoting itself, more specifically in Rajasthan.
Let’s first talk about agriculture and the farmers. To better understand the picture, let’s draw a contrast between the Congress and BJP tenures. Congress the trade guarantee to NAFED increased to 2350 crores but it was never used to its full capacity. The maximum they used was around 250 crores.
BJP increased the interval start to Rs 45,000 crores and they also used it; Rs 7500 crores of procurement is done from Rajasthan. The bottom line is that while BJP has procured Rs 5000 crores, Congress promised only Rs 2300 crores, but that too never manifested into reality.
Recently, when Gajendra Singh, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmer Welfare and convenor of Rajasthan’s Election Management Committee was asked the relevance of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’, in link with just one ticket to the Muslim minority, he gave a befitting reply.
Gajendra Singh said: The term ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ cannot be used with ticket distribution. “The prime minister is aiming at 100% electrification of the country. We ensured that every house has their own toilet. We worked for the poorest of the poor. The economy has improved and we are like hot cakes now for the entire world. We have jumped in the index of Ease of Doing Business and a large number of foreign direct investments were attracted during the BJP tenure. This is ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’.” he explained.
“We are working as a family. We are confident that we will form the government under the leadership of Vasundhara Raje,” he said. Well, the public is quite confident of BJP working for the state development, and this is what multiple surveys depict. Rest, time should tell.
