To make the schemes and subsidies benefit the set target audience, we take the help of numbers. Likewise, to coincide with Central scheme of digitalisation in a more precise way, the gaupalan department decides to give number tags to all the cows in cow shelter.

From January 1st, the government scheme will be prevailed in the state which will help in conserving and raising cows. Just like the registration tags of vehicles, these tags will help in easy recognition of both cows and cow shelters.

For instance, if we talk about the Jaisalmer code, GP 17 will be representing the gaushala and then the number of the cow.

Ramji Meena (Dupty Director of Animal Husbandry) mentioned that ” this scheme would help the gaupalan department provide subsidies to gaushalas”.

The code for all gaushalas will be created district-wise and subsidies will be given at the rate of Rs. 16 for calves and for Rs. 32 for old cattle. Eligibility criteria for this include the gaushalas which are on run from two years and have at least 200 cattle.

On the first phase, the subsidy scheme will serve for 3 months i.e. January to March.

A survey says that, the state has 70 registered cow shades, but unfortunately, only 17-18 out of them are properly functioning. For the subsidy scheme, 10 gaushalas have been selected.

Matadeen Sharma, district collector said that gaupalan committees according to districts have been made. These committees will be led by collector and the members cell has zila parishad CEOs and deputy agriculture as animal husbandry officer as member secretary and members.

The scheme is made to  be executed in all the districts of the state.

Rajasthan government is covering all aspects in making the state a prosperous place to live. Cow welfare could not be avoided. This step of state government has ensured that, government is relying on a systematic and planned approach of development.
