Congress and Casteism are like peanut butter and jelly, inseparable. They swear by equality and unity during their campaigns but forget after getting into power like this recent incident where a minister from Gehlot’s cabinet said that working for her caste is her priority. Mamta Bhupesh, who is Women and Child development minister in cabinet, made this remark while addressing a public event in Rani town of Alwar district yesterday.
‘My first duty will be to work towards the development of people of my caste and then towards the larger society. I intend to work for everyone.’ Bhupesh said.
In Rajasthan, where the assembly polls were held in 199 seats out of 200, the Congress bagged 99 seats. BSP, who bagged 6 seats, extended support to the Congress. Like the entire nation, Rajasthan is a rich state in terms of tradition and culture. The basic diversity is the system called- Caste, and the Congress is quite pro in cashing it.
Before the election the Congress campaigners had been criticising NDA, saying the saffron party runs only on “Hindutva”. The party promised for following equality concept but now, the wagon is going on a different track after Minister Mamta Bhupesh clearly has come up with her priority to work for her own caste. Discriminating work according to the caste is a new thing introduced by the newly-appointed Congress government.
People of Rajasthan trusted Congress campaigner’s sugary promises and offered majority but the now the story has routed toward broken promises.
