Ananadpal Encounter Case

The state government’s recommendation for CBI probe into Anandpal Encounter has been approved by the Centre. As per the reports, the CBI will investigate the encounter of the gangster Anandpal Singh in Churu that took place on June 24 and also the violent protests in Sanvarad village in July that left 1 dead and many injured.

The Central government handed informed the central government that the department of personnel and training (DoPT) has handed over two FIRs regarding Anandpal encounter and violent protests in Sanvarad to the CBI.

It all started when the Rajput leaders approached the Rajasthan government and demanded an independent probe into the case, claiming that Anandpal encounter was staged by the police. The state government agreed to this demand on July 17 and handed over the two cases to the CBI for an independent investigation.

However, CBI submitted its response before the Rajasthan High Court Jodhpur bench, stating that the case was not worth investigating and refused to dig into it. This was followed by many outrageous reactions and agitation for the probe which made it important for the government to take an action.

Anandpal Encounter Sanvarad Violence

Later, on December 17, the state government sent another appeal to the centre and pleaded for CBI probe citing the law and order situation in Sanvarad. The decision taken by Centre came as a relief for the state which feared an agitation by Rajput outfits in the state.

The DoPT letter dated December 22 informed the Rajasthan government that it has handed over the FIR number 190/2017 Ratangarh police station in Churu and 123/2017 Jaswantgarh police station in Nagaur to CBI for a separate investigation concerning both the encounter and the violent protests.
